Singapore - Day 1

Singapore - Day 1
April 3, 2018

It is the start of our next adventure! On our first day in Singapore, I woke up extremely early. We had taken a 16 hour and 40 minute plane flight the day before with Singapore Airlines. On the almost seventeen hour flight I watched a lot of movies and I mean a lot. I watched: Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2, Pitch Perfect 3, Bridesmaids, Wonder, Kingsmen: The Golden Circle and Paddington 2. That's 7 movies!
Anyway, I was really hungry when I woke up, so my Mom and I walked a couple blocks away from our Hotel  and  had breakfast at a place called Oromo. My Mom and I shared an eggs benedict. My Mom had a Guatemalan drip coffee and I had lemon infused water. After our small breakfast, we walked back to the hotel to pick up my Dad. Then we all went to Albert Centre (where all the hawker stalls are). A hawker stall is a small "pop-up" stand where you can get food.

We stopped  to get some sugar cane juice at one the Hawkers, it was so good. My Mom and I walked around to see what we wanted for food, while my Dad saved our booth. I found a fried carrot cake hawker and we got half black and half white. It was yummy.

Then after our amazing fried carrot cake we went upstairs to see all the sundries. There were sun dried flowers, dries fish, all sorts of nuts and snack that did not need to be kept cold.

Then we walked around a little bit more. We saw a big banner with Chinese horoscopes. Chinese horoscopes are based on the year that you are born. I was born in the year of the Dog, my Dad was born in the year of the Ox, and my Mom was born in the year of the Dragon.

It was very hot and we were thirsty so we stopped at a market called Broadway Centre where my Mom got an Ice cream soda in a can and my Dad got Calamansi juice (Filipino lime juice) and I got an ice cold water. After we we got our drinks we headed upstairs. We found Mangosteen juice, an alter store, fish ball sticks etc.

Then we went to yet another market, Bugis market. Where they have clothes, purses, fresh fruit, shoes, fruit juice, food, watches.

When we were there I saw this really cool hat. It had 2 solar panels and a fan inside the hat. So when the hat hit sunlight the solar panels would get power and make the fan turn around inside the hat so the person can keep cool.
Then there were pixel sunglasses.

Upstairs in the Bugis market there was a neat wrap dress that had a collar and was very 1930's. Unfortunately, it didn't fit well. I am too tall and the waist was too short.
We also found a fruit stand! They had all sorts of fruit like: huge honey mango's, soursop, jackfruit, big grapes, dragon fruit, mini mango's etc.

Then it was time for dinner and we went back to Albert Centre. We had some fried duck with rice and some soup with weird prawn and pork balls. Then we went back to are Hotel and fell asleep very quickly.
