Phuket, Thailand - Part 1

Phuket, Thailand
April 11, 2018

This is the second time I have been to Phuket. Last time we took a cooking class with Oratai Cooking. Today we are taking a cooking class with Phuket Thai Cooking School. But first...

We started the day off by going to get breakfast and then getting a tender ticket to get off the boat. When we went to get tender tickets they had closed and were now just doing open boarding. So we went down to Deck 1, got on a tender, and went to Phuket, Thailand!

When we got off the tender, we were crowded with taxi drivers wanting to give us tours. Then after we got out of the taxi gauntlet, we headed to the beach. My Mom did not want to go to the beach and stick her toes in the sand, so it was just me and my Dad. While we were walking my Dad saw these really cool birds, so of course we had to take a selfie with them. After we were done walking on the beach and taking selfies, we met back up with my Mom.

We started to walk to the market, but decided to stop in to an air conditioned coffee shop. I got an ice cold water, my Dad go a coke light, and my Mom got a hazelnut milk  coffee. Once we had cooled off, we decided to continue walking to the market. When we realized that it was another 15 minutes of walking in the hot sun to get there and another 15 minutes to get back to where we meeting our driver, we decided to just stay in the area that we were in.

We purchased some mangosteens, mangos, bananas, snake fruit, and longons.

Then we headed to get something to eat. We went to Sweet Cafe and I got Pad Thai and my Mom and Dad got tempura. The Pad Thai was my favorite by fat, but my Mom like the fried cauliflower and shrimp.

We tried the snake fruit and mango while were at Sweet (the restaurant). My Dad opened the snake fruit and it was all yellow (instead of it being white and being shaped like garlic cloves), the snake fruit was not my favorite. The mango was juicy and super ripe, but sadly we could not finish all the mango.

The we went to the Family Store and I got Durian and Mangosteen gummies for 50 bhatts each (39 bhatts equaled 1 US dollar). After we went to the Family Store we headed to meet the people to do our Thai cooking class. I will tell you all about the Thai cooking class in another blog. After we went tot the Thai cooking class we headed back to get a tender and the sun was setting! We got to go on the tender while the sun was setting, it was beautiful. Then when we got back on the ship, I got to go ice skating! I went for about 25 minutes, then my feet were tired.

After I went ice skating, then I headed up to rock climb. It took me several tries, but I got up the wall. When I headed down the stairs from rock climbing, my Dad was talking to a guy about all the different ships. After they had their discussion, I got to throw some hoops. After that, I went to the teens club and played Stop The Bus, Mafia, and Charades. Then I went to bed. What an amazing day!
