Going to the Market in Thailand

One of the cruise stops was Thailand. We booked another cooking class, this time with Oratai Thai Cooking. Oratai's cooking class's are very kid friendly and that is partly why we picked it.   First thing you do is go to the market with Oratai and get all the food for your class.

There was a ton of yummy looking food at the market like pig head. Well maybe that wasn't so yummy! I saw all sorts of different mushrooms and other vegetables. We saw fish and the heads of them too, fresh prawns, and dried baby shrimp.

We also saw Pink eggs that but the reason they were pink was that they had injected chili into them and the Chinese love it with there breakfast.

We bought fresh Turmeric, Thai tomato, lemongrass, Chives, Green onions and Potatoes.

We also bought fresh Chicken and we saw Thai chicken too and it was yellow because rubbed with turmeric and that it was raised in a house it is actually tougher than a regular chicken. Yesterday we saw black chickens in Penang but their feathers are silver.

After the market we drove the Oratai's kitchen. On the way she stopped so I could feed a baby elephant. He got so mad when the food ran out that he grabbed the basket and threw it on the ground.

We also stopped to get a Thai treat. It was called barbecued coconut and it was yummy.
